The Vatican decreed that it was time for a Papal Facebook app just as the self proclaimed King of Twitter threatened to abdicate. In an apparent role reversal, Microsoft unveiled new search technology on the same day that Google announced a new collaborative software platform -- two giant ships passing in the night.
